Bangsring Underwater is located east of Banyuwangi precisely in Krajan Hamlet, Bangsring Village, Wongsorejo District. Bangsring Underwater or commonly abbreviated Bunder is already famous for water tourism destinations, especially the sea. Now the July in Banyuwangi is not only the Ijen Crater or Osing Adat Village, But there are also beach and diving tourist attractions in Bangsring.

Previously, The diving team can be Indonesia in research activities supported by Pertamina TBBM Tanjung Wangi Documenting the condition of Bunder waters in four points in two zones, namely the use and protection zone at a depth of 5m, 7m dan 10m.  The core zone is a zone where many fish juvenils are used as special protection zones while the utilization zone is usually used as a tourist location to see coral reefs and fish in Bangsring. Of the four points, Based on the rareaperscentage of coral reef cover, the conditions in the bunder can be categorized from damaged to good enough. The coral cover which is bad is dominated by rubble or coral pieces that are likely to be damaged by fish bombings that occurred in the past. Whereas at the point with a fairly good condition it has a percentage hard coral which is quite high.

Coral fish community around Bunder, dominated by fish from the Pomacentridae family or damsel fish. This fish is indeed classified as major fish and found in almost all waters in the world. Also found acanthuridae fish, Apogonidae, Carangidae or Trevally as well as Labridae. Some of the fish families found are consumption fish, some are usually taken by Banyuwangi fish fishermen and are sold as ornamental fish commodities. Overall in this study found more or less 60 fish species in bunder. Besides fish, These waters are also a habitat for turtles. One of the turtles observed in this waters is the increasingly difficult turtle we find, namely the hawksbill or hawksbill sea turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata).

The results of research conducted during August 2018 This shows that there is still a waters area with damaged coral conditions. Because of the importance of the role of this waters for the economy of the community in its use as a tourist attraction and for the rich biodiversity, especially in Banyuwangi,  then as a follow -up to this study, conservation activities are carried out in the form of coral rehabilitation to help improve the quality of this aquatic ecosystem. Rehabilitation activities This will be done together between Indonesia and Pokdarwis Bunder with the support of Pertamina TBBM Tanjung Wangi.
